WIP Maritime Blues – complete

13 Nov

I was pretty determined to complete this today. So it is really at the squinty eye stage – you know what I mean… stare at it this way and that way – looking for touch up places. As this was a poured painting of sorts, I really did not want to bring up really high key detail. Although I did start down that path somewhat. Then I caught myself. Wanted to leave evidence of the technique to get here since it was so involved.
Watercolor painting of mussel shells

This is a full sheet watercolor (22″ x 30″)

Thank you – this type of painting is like therapy. A bit of control and a lot of fun.

Gorgeous! I love how the yellows come through. Hard to believe it was a poured painting… looks pretty high detail to me!

I have been following your progress on this one. I love the contrast between the watery blends and the sharp edges. Very nice!

      Thank you Maxine
The real challenge here was knowing when to stop – I was afraid to overdo it and loose the sharp edges
